A Wider View of Things

Have you ever seen a photo of an airplane being refueled, air-to-air, from the tanker aircraft? Me too. I've taken such photos, and that's fine. But I like to show more than the fuelee, as the mission of the fuelers is no less critical and no less demanding.

Here, then, is a wide shot looking out the rear window of a KC-135 of the Arizona Air National Guard 161st Air Refueling Wing "Copperheads" — with and without an F-16 taking on gas — and candids of the crew that day. These are good people, nice people, doing their duty for their country. (And kind enough to take me along for the ride and the pix.)

You can learn more about the Copperheads at http://www.161arw.ang.af.mil
